Don't play games with God

'If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who “worry their prayers” are like wind-whipped waves. Don’t think you’re going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open. '

"This verse has been a great source of encouragement during this preparation and waiting period. In the past, I've often prayed to God for guidance in finances, career, and relationships, but I'd only tell Him my problems and then rush to solve them my own way. Things usually ended up more complicated. This time, I'm doing things differently. I believe that a different approach will lead to a different outcome. I'm choosing to spend more time listening to God's detailed instructions instead of coming to Him with my own solutions.”

"Of course, God is the Creator, and His ways are beyond our understanding.
The first thing He repeatedly reminded me of was to "PREPARE YOUR HEART" for this journey. As I mentioned in my previous post, the heart is the source of everything.”

'Keep thy heart with all diligence; For out of it are the issues of life. '
Proverb 4:23

Preparing my heart doesn't mean simply telling myself, 'Everything will be okay; don't worry.' To me, that's just a psychological trick, not true faith. Here's how we prepare our hearts during this waiting period.

"God's promises became my anchor during this waiting season. His confirmation that this trip was His plan gave me unwavering faith. By meditating on His Word, I was able to overcome any doubts and eagerly anticipate His timing.”

God sent us amazing friends who prayed for us and shared their personal stories of God's goodness. Their testimonies were a constant reminder of God's faithfulness, and they truly lifted my spirits. I'm so blessed to have such a supportive community.

"We spent time praising and worshipping God. As we did, our minds were filled with the realization that He is our Shepherd, our Waymaker, our Miracle Worker, our Provider, our Savior, and our Good, Good Father. In worship, our minds were set free from worry, and our problems seemed small compared to our great and mighty God.”

"God also impressed upon us the importance of staying focused on the present. We found great encouragement in the story of Joshua crossing the Jordan River, as described in Joshua 3.”

'and they commanded the people, saying, “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God with the Levitical priests carrying it, then you shall set out from your place and go after it. However, there shall be a distance between you and it of about two thousand cubits by measurement. Do not come near it, so that you may know the way by which you shall go, for you have not passed this way before.” '

"I've learned to let God go before me. I need to step back and trust Him to show me the way. I'm preparing myself by focusing on what I can control, knowing that God will take care of the rest at the right time. I'm working on improving my language skills, especially listening and speaking, because my job in visuals doesn't require much English. This preparation is crucial for my entire journey."

"I'm planning to wrap up all my ongoing projects by the end of September. I won't be taking on any new projects after that, even though I don't have a visa, flight tickets, or the funds for the trip yet. From a human perspective, there's no guarantee that I'll leave Vietnam in September. However, from God's perspective, the Planner, these circumstances are happening to assure me that this journey and all the preparations are from Him, not my own wisdom.”

The third lesson

After all this, I've learned one thing: DON'T TRY TO OUTSMART GOD. Don't come to Him with your own solutions; instead, come to Him and seek His solutions. I'm excited to experience how God will lead and care for me with a love and wisdom far greater than anything I could ever imagine.”
